Art. Paint. Journal. Play... A Cover

I recently posted my new Art Journal, complete with decorated cover. I had more fun working on this and guess what? I filmed it! YAY!
In fact, this is a bit new for me. While I love working on mixed media, doing collages, and even tinkering with art journaling here and there... this is the first time for me to approach an actual, store bought journal with the intention of filling all the pages with inky fun play.

So, what does that mean for you?
A new video series, of course!

I intend to film myself each time I work in this journal. I won't be narrating these videos, simply just fast forwarding and adding music. This really will give you a peek into what I am doing, while allowing me to just focus on the process and not so much on creating a teaching style tutorial.

I, of course, will blog about each little video and will give you more details there. But, the videos themselves will just be a short, musical glimpse into my attempt at "official" art journaling... if there is even such a thing? Well, of course not! Art journaling is art journaling, official or not. HA! But, I think you catch my drift, yes?

Alright... so enough chatting! Here is that video:

Fun, yes? As you can see, I approached this without the idea of filling up the entire "canvas." This is key for how I work. I have learned over the years that I am much happier with my finished piece if there is a good deal of negative space left over. What else is notable about this cover? Lots of white, lots of pen work, a bit of stamping, and plenty of watercolor. That's how I roll, people!

Thanks for stopping by and i'll see you soon!
