Inky First Words

Hello, hello! It's Monday and that means we have a new challenge waiting for you at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.

Anna-Karin proposed an inky background challenge – we are intrigued! Will you create a messy effect? Do some distress stamping? Directly apply inky to your background? Take this as a chance to explore and play with ink…

One of my favorite ways to use ink is with a blending tool and a stencil, so for this week, I am going to do just that!

Here, I have gathered my chosen ink colors, little blending tool, and a stencil that I made myself using a Tim Holtz Alpha Die:
I simply blended the two inks around with the stencil in place, and now I need to figure out my page design...
After a bit of noodling around, I decided to turn this sideways so that the stenciled letters would become more of a visual texture than literal letters...
I stitched down some cut out letters...
and added some lovely embellishments...
and there we have it!

A fun layout, complete with fun ink, to document my little one's first word!

Alrighty!
Now it's your turn! I can't wait to see what you do with this week's theme! Go get crafty and don't forget to link-up with us! Every week a random winner is chosen to win a $50 spending spree from SimonSaysStamp.com.
