Four of a Kind...

Happy Monday! We have a new challenge for you up on the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge blog.

This week, we are all about family. What family? The family of distress colors? Your ancestors? Friends you feel are closer than your biological family? The people you share your home with? There are a lot of answers to the question of this week’s challenge – and how you answer our call to creativity is entirely up to you.

I decided to scrap a page all about our four little girlies...

My mother made all of them matching pillow case dresses for a recent trip we took. I just love them and I am so thrilled to have these adorable pictures of them too! They served as my inspiration this week and are dictating the colors I choose...

Well, and the fact that we have four of a kind, too!

Here we have my kraft background that I have painted my title onto using some white acrylic paint. I went ahead and did this first. Why? Two reasons... I know I want the title to be a large feature on the layout. Also, if I botch it, it's much better to grab another sheet of kraft than to scrap the whole layout.

So, title first for this one!
With that all dry and set, time to start layering up these scraps. Oh, and not to mention that perfect "xoxo tag!"
 It's coming together...
But.... this needs a little something...
 Pattern! YES! Love that!
Since my title is such a focal point of this page, the rest of the design came together really quickly. Easy PEASY actually! Now, for a little pen work to enhance these letters...
Some grey pen work also helped shade the title nicely...
Love that layering... and those bits sprinkled about!
 And there we have it!
My family... with four of a kind...

Scrapped!

  2. This is another stunning page. As always, I love to read your creative process and how you talk us through what you're thinking ("this needs a little something..."). And those dresses are such a treasure! Your girls are absolutely precious and they are so lucky to have such a talented mom to chronicle all these special things from their childhood.
