Twelve Years Ago in May...

Happy Monday! We have a new challenge for you up on the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge blog.

May has gone totally self-indulgent this week as it is her birthday week! Happy Birthday, May!!! Therefore, this week we are all about the letter "M."

So what will you create? M could stand for the month of May, mist, markers, magenta, mowed lawn, metal, millinery, a masculine project, mounted stamps…

The hubbs and I recently celebrated 12 years of marriage. And, we got married in May... so there are two "M's" for ya! Since I have never scrapped our wedding... this seems like the time to do that!

To get started, I have a lovely background paper and my chosen photo. I have then taped down some washi to use as a resist and am just applying some white paint:
And a little glitter too, of course!
With the tape pulled off, I am ready to spray on a little gray color shine to help those white stripes stand out a bit:
Ah yes! Likey so... now for some strips of patterned paper...
Some layers behind the photo...
Some chipboard accents...
Title time! Yep - we got married in our bare feet. As did our entire wedding party. Except for one (but today is not the time for that story - lol).
Now, since this is a celebration page, I do think some confetti is in order...
Sprinkled around with some Matte Medium...
Journaling tucked behind the photo...
And there we have it!
May is indeed a special month for us around here...
And I love to have it scrapped, just in time as we celebrate 12 years! HA!
Okie Dokie!

So... now it's your turn! Go get crafty and link-up with us!
Every week a random winner is chosen to win a $50 spending spree from SimonSaysStamp.com.

How awesome is that?

Here is my supply list :)

  14. I love so many things about your layout! That picture, first off, is fantastic and I think it perfectly captures your amazing sense of humor and your ability to turn all everyday moments into something a little more special. And your hubby looks as easy-going and happy-spirited as you! Yay! And I love how the background matches the vibe of that photo with its whimsy and celebratory elements. Congrats on 12 years and on making one heck of an awesome page to celebrate that occasion!
