Playing Favorites...

While it’s true that it depends on what kind of project you’re crafting and what you’re trying to make, we all have our own favorite ink pads. This week the challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show is to create something using your favorite ink pad, your #1 most used pad, or otherwise to create with a favorite ink.

I decided to go with a tried and true favorite this week. But, before we get to that, let's take a look at our stamps we have here to work with. These are also my favorites... the ones I return to time and time again:

And now for my favorite ink! Yep, Archival Jet Black. I know, I know... there are thousands of inks and I am going with this basic one? You bet! For one, I don't do a ton of stamping in color, but the main reason I LOVE this ink is how endlessly versatile it is. It picks up detail and can get wet without bleeding. Wonderfullness, I tell ya!

Now, before we get to stamping, first let's mark out where our photos will go:

And now we stamp!

Here... There... and Everywhere...

OK! Time to dress this up a bit. First, I just spritz my paper with water...

So that the watercolors will blend and bleed with ease...

A quick check to see how those photos work. Yep, I like! So...let's continue...

ooooh - lookin' good!

Now for some washi:

All laid down...

And ready for photos:

Fussy cut embellishments? Yes, please.

Laying things all out:

And there we have it!

With just a little Archival Ink and some water colors, we were able to create a custom background...
Full of fun and whimsy!

Alrighty! Now it's your turn to play. Time to grab your favorite ink, get crafty, and link-up with us!

Remember... one lucky winner is chosen at random each week to win a $50 shopping spree from SimonSaysStamp.com

  8. Ashli....what a cute page! I love the stamps you chose to use to create such a whimsical and colorful background! That black outlines of all those images looks really cool with the watercolor just allowed to bleed and flow where ever it wanted to go. Very neat look! The addition of the black and white washi tape also looks very cool behind the photographs. Very neat page, Ashli! <3 Candy
