It's All In The Numbers...

Happy Monday! You know why it's happy? Because we have a new challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge blog!

This week it's all about numbers! Challenge yourself to use a specific number of items, use number stamps, stencils, paper with numbers on it, create a layout with a top five list, journal your top ten favorite things - the sky is the limit! You could use a ticket stamp, color-by-number with some Copic markers, and so much more.

So, this week, we are challenging you to get crafty with numbers. Hey, you could even win a $50 shopping spree from Simon Says Stamp! One lucky winner is drawn at random each week from all of our entries.

As you may know, I can't stand anything going to waste in my stash, especially Thickers! I have found a wonderful solution for what to do with those left over letters... but what about those numbers?
What if we make some embellishments from all of those lone, leftover numbers? Using a scrap piece of card stock, I simply adhered my numbers in a random pattern. The look kinda cool in this red, black, and white... but, I want them to be more cohesive.
Soooooo.... How about we paint them out white?
I just used a bunch of numbers in my stash, but if you do not have this Thicker collecting addiction that I have... I will link up some in the supply list that world work very well for this technique.

While that dries, I think the leftover chipboard from a Basic Grey Letter Sheet will make a lovely stencil to spruce up the background...
 Oh yes! Indeed it does!
Let's take that concept a bit further and add some dimension with Molding Paste...
 Cool!
Once all of that number goodness was dry, I simply ran my painted numbers through my Sizzix using a steel rule die and that gave me these lovely embellishments:
And now, let's layer!
Some lovely bits from Crate Paper's On Trend collection:
 Tucked in here and there:
And now those number embellishments get placed about:
The of the off-cut border strips will give us some much needed horizontal action:
My journaling gets tucked in among the layers:
Some more lone "threes" will serve as more embellishments. After all, this layout is all about my 3 girlies:
Those numbers and my twine gets adhered with the best thing since sliced bread... Claudine Helmuth for Ranger's Matte Multi-Medium. I LOVE that stuff! It dries perfectly clear and has the perfect amount of body to it. Plus, it is so easy to use in this little bottle!
After jotting down my journaling about my Girls and the size of our family, I just put a little note on the back of the card letting the viewer know that I documented more of my love for the girlies in a mini-book that I recently made. This "cross-referencing" idea curtesy of Shimelle :)
And with that...
Ta Da!
A layout full of fun texture, created out of supplies that might otherwise have gone unused:
 All about my 3 girlies:
Alrighty! Now it's your turn! I can't wait to see your take on this week's fun challenge. Be sure to link-up for your chance to win.

Now, if you would like to try your hand at the above, take a look at the supply list below: (affiliate links used)
