Setting Up and Stamping Around...

Happy Monday! You know why it's happy? Because we have a new challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge blog

This week it's all about stamps... specifically the stamps you love, but don't use. I think we all might be a bit guilty of having some neglected stamps in our stash, yes? I know I am!

So, this week, we are challenging you to break those stamps out, dust them off, and put them to use. Hey, you could even win a $50 shopping spree from Simon Says Stamp! One lucky winner is drawn at random each week from all of our entries.

I love to buy stamps, especially the cute, collection specific stamps! They are so affordable and so easy to justify, collect, hoard, and never use!

Well, that's about to change! I am grabbing some of my most favorite Amy Tangerine stamps and plan on putting them to good use today.
In fact, I want to make them the main embellishments of this layout. These circles all punched out should provide an easy foundation for that:
With my photo adhered onto my background and some little strips scattered about amongst the circles...
It's time to play with all of those lovely stamps! A little embossing, some basic black, and a little play with grey...
Once those were all stamped about, I just cut and punched out my stamped images to use as my embellishments...
There! Now that I have them all where I want them, I want my background to have some more interest. I love inking once and stamping multiple times. It gives such a great texture and patterns as each impression fades a bit:
And, you know what else? I think some of those cameras on the background paper need a little pen work:
All set! Now for the title.
I like what I have going here, but that wood is just a little too "clean." A baby wipe swiped over my Pumice Distress Ink is just the thing to stain those veneer letters:
And after the usual misting, journaling, and doodly doo...
Setting Up....
And Stamping Around...
It is so gratifying to get something pulled out of the stash and put to use! I can't wait to see how you will get your stamp on this week!
