Lunch With Royalty...

Welcome to a new week and a new challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show! This week we are off to Neverland - or anywhere else you please. Whether you go with a classic tale, use a quote from a story, or just tell a once upon a time kind of tale in your art journal we can’t wait to see what you do. There are no strict rules here, you could be inspired by a story, a character, even an idea or color scheme. From stories of princesses to flowers that talk, faraway places to under a rock - embrace your sense of whimsy this week and see where inspiration leads you...

As for me... I think this is just the occasion to scrap about a little lunch date we recently had with Disney royalty!

I plan on scrapping several pages about this special surprise in our Disney Vacation album. This page will act as the intro to that section. I have gathered a fun little Instagram picture along with a photo of that gorgeous castle. And, of course, some lovely patterned papers:
As this page will serve as an intro page of sorts, I really want to play with typography and title work and I do believe this fun Amy Tangerine speech bubble page will work just perfectly for that!
Now, I am doing something here that I rarely do. I don't have many navy patterned papers in my stash and I know that I will want to repeat that color within the design. So, I have gutted the center of my background page:
With that backed on a spare piece of card stock, I begin playing around with design and placement. And the addition of some fabulous Glitter Tape. Love that stuff!
I like what I have going above, but I feel like there needs to be a layer of texture. Acrylic paint to the rescue! And a fork too.... that should be fun? After all this is a page about a lunch date :)
OK, all scraped on...
Now that we are all dry, just a little misting will bring out that texture as the paint acts as a resist for the spray:
Now, back to the design! A few speech bubbles here and there...
YEP! Fun with fonts and title work:
And after some more alphas, a bit of chipboard, some sequins, and the usual journaling and pen lines...

TA DA!
Lunch with Royalty...
A reason to celebrate!
This is such a fun challenge, don't you think? There are so many ways to interpret this and I can't wait to see what you come up with! Remember, anything goes... altered art, scrapbooking, mini books, cards... your imagination is the only limit.

AND... let's not forget that every link-up has a chance to be the random winner of a $50 shopping spree to SimonSaysStamp.com. How awesome is that???

They sell everything you could ever want for your scrapping and crafting. In fact, here is a complete list of the supplies used for the layout above: (affiliate links used)
