A Clean Mess...

You know what the best part of Monday is? A new challenge and a chance to win over at Simon Says Stamp and Show! Did you know that every week, not only is there a new challenge to work out your creative brain, but there is also a chance to win a $50 shopping spree to Simon Says Stamp?!?! HOW AWESOME!!!

So, what is our challenge for you this week? To get messy, that's what!!!

Ok, so you don't have to get paint and ink all over the place like I usually do, but this week we invite you to break out your stash of paint, ink, and overall messy mediums and create up a storm.

Since this is supposed to be a challenge, and I typically do the whole "messy" look quite often... I thought I might try my hand at using messy mediums to create a "clean" project. And, a little Valentine Decor piece at that!

To begin, I have an up-cycled toy package that I have painted white and with the paint still wet, I have sprinkled some glitter into one of the compartments. If you don't have a toy box laying around, Tim Holtz, Maya Road, and 7 Gypsies have some lovely options that I will link up for you in the supply list below.
Now with that all dry, I have cut my pattern paper to fit and I just can't help myself and feel the need to add a few spatters. Hopefully you will forgive me...
I think it still has a fairly clean look, yes?
A little die cut heart action and a fussy cut bit from my Cashmere Dame paper pad, along with some Thickers...
And a bit of twine and Stickles...
Some Wood Veneer and Glitter Tape...
Love that sparkle!
Easy Peasy! A fun little Valentine Decor piece to kick off a week of Valentine Love here at Purple Mailbox!
My Sweethearts!
I love those wood veneer letters and numbers, don't you! This sweet photo of my girls was captured in 2012 and I had just the numbers for that. Or at least that is my story now, as it occurred to me while writing this post that the year is actually now 2013! Oh my! Well, hooray for a year that no longer needs two of the same number to complete! Woooo Hoooo!

OK! So, get crafty and get messy and link-up for your chance to win a $50 shopping spree to SimonSaysStamp.com

And, if you would like to try your hand a little something like the above... A complete supply list is below: (affiliate links used)

Alrighty! See you again soon for more Valentine goodness :)
