Good Ole Grandma!

We are kickin' it old school this week at the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge Blog. To ring in the new year, we are embracing the old, the classics, the stuff that maybe has been forgotten due to all the lovely new goodies headed our way.

Create something with an old favorite technique, share a project made with a favorite supply that has been around a long time, dive into your stash and get your scrap on, or craft something that looks truly old. However you take this challenge - we look forward to seeing what oldies but goodies you’re using and how.

And remember, when you link-up your project, you are entered to win the drawing for a $50 gift card to simonsaysstamp.com!
How am I embracing the old this week? By flipping through some of the many boxes of old family photos that I have been given! This polaroid of my late Grandma with her catch of the day caught my eye, so let's get it scrapped.

I have pulled a lovely selection of October Afternoon, Echo Park and Basic Grey...
I quite like the idea of some whimsical clouds layered over the more realistic sky in the October Afternoon paper. So, a bit of fussy cutting is in order:

I like that, but it needs a little oomph, yes?
A bit of gold embossing to the rescue!
Layering up the photo and placing some butterflies:
And then those fussy cut clouds get added with some pop dots for extra dimension:
 Layering on some washi:
OK, now it's time to break in these new letter stamps from Graphic 45. Well, not new, but new to me. And now that I have used them, I seriously wonder how I ever scrapped without them!
See? They are the perfect size!
Outlined in white, with a little pen work:
 And there we have it!
That was fun! I have very few old polaroids and I was thrilled to get this one scrapped and to tell this sweet story.
I can't wait to see your interpretation of this week's theme. Be sure to link it up for your chance to win.

And, if you want to try your hand at something like the layout above, a complete supply list is below: (affiliate links used)
