Scrap Mini...Learn Big

Farewell September, hello October! Before we get too far into this new month, we need to take a look again at my mini album from Learn Something New Everyday, a class by Shimelle. When we left off, I was on page 16. I suppose now I should show you how that all ended up. What do you say? Let's get on with it, shall we?

If you missed the first 16 pages, take a look at this post. Or, if you missed the deconstruction of a perfectly good SMASH book to create the bones of this book, take a look here. All caught up? Great!

First up, let's take a look at day 17-30...

And with that, I had a completed album! Thirty days, a page a day, all in one little deconstructed and reconstructed SMASH book. Wanna see some of my favorite spreads?
Good! I'd love to show you...

I had so much fun doing this! I have only made a couple of minis before and I usually do them in just one or two sittings. This was the first project that I added to more slowly... one day at a time. I love the different experience of that. More pondering, more time, more of a sense of completion...
...and more little bits and pieces all tucked in! Shimelle does this class every September and once you purchase it, you are given access each year for no additional charge. Lifetime membership to a scrapbooking class? Yes, please!

Speaking of which... perhaps it's time to get ready for my first year of Journal Your Christmas? Yay, fun!

  18. I am envious!! This is my perfect kind of album and sadly I had to keep it very simple this year. I have made daily notes and not yet put them in an album :(
But good on you, yours is an inspiration.
Note to self: next year start putting my album together after Christmas and be prepared!

And that you finished it on top of everything.
I can't tell you how many unfinished minis I have going on.

  33. Found you thru Pinterest and will now follow your blog! Love it!! 2 questions if you have time: 1: on a couple of pages(5 and 21) you have what looks like a little plastic pocket with confetti in it, what is that? 2: on another page(mind map, it's me page) you have a string with jewels/sequins on it, is that yarn?

    1. Hi! Thanks so much for you sweet comment and for following! Let's see if I can help... #1 - the confetti pockets. For these, I just took a standard baseball card style protector from the office supply store and cut it down to four pockets. Then, I just used on pocket for confetti and used washi tape/stitched it closed. #2 - the sequins, or yarn? I think you are looking at the red strip at the bottom of the page? That is actually just a border sticker. But, I may not be seeing what you are seeing.... so let me know if that is not it- lol! Hope this helps! :)
