Twenty One Pictures, 21 Years

Happy Monday! Simon's back with something a little special today! It's STAMPtember ™ over at simonsaysstamp.com and we have some exciting things in store!

First on the list of things I have to share with you is our weekly challenge: Read All About It! Whether you are inspired by a text patterned stamp or classic literature, this week is all about books! Take a look at the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog for all the details.

Oh yeah - I did mention things are special today, right? This week there is a gift card for $100 up for grabs! That's right, $100!

What's the other cool thing about this post? It's a stop in our STAMPtember ™ Blog Hop! A hop where I get to give away $25 to spend at simonsaysstamp.com! So, if you have arrived here from Anna-Karin Evaldsson, welcome and thanks for stopping by!

Now let's get one with it, shall we?

So, how was I inspired by books this week? My mother faithfully photographed me on every birthday and kept them in an album. With her permission, I set about compiling these into a mini. After all, a collection of 21 birthday photos tell quite a story, yes?

And here is the story of how I put THAT story together:

After grabbing my collection of October Afternoon Cakewalk, I cut the papers down to size and stitched them together:
Now, for some fun stenciling on my chipboard covers:
 And misting in pink...
 As well as yellow!
OK, I know - it looks like someone has bled on it! HA! Not to worry... I promise :)
Now for some of the October Afternoon cuteness on the front:
All decked out with some cork stars that were cut in my Sizzix:
 21 Birth Days...
With the "bones" of my book ready to go, I can start adhering the photos:
 And the journaling spots:
 And the embellishments:
I made sure to have some consistent items on each page. Things like washi, a cork star, chevron stamping, and some punched circles and star shapes.
For the birthdays where I had more to say, I utilized a bit of hidden journaling:
And for the big 16, I had so many fun picts, that they all went into a pocket crafted from red patterned paper, washi, and staples.
18 was a big one too as I spent it in another country, so the journaling for that is tucked behind the photo:
And for the end of the book, I have included a pocket with some journaling about my fond birthday memories and the joy of having them all in one place to tell a story...
 ... of 21 birth days:
All wrapped up in one little mini:
Full of memories:
and full of pretty paper, punches and of course... STAMPING!
I do have to say, that black chevron stamp provides the perfect amount of contrast!

Are you feeling inspired? Inspired by books and stories? Make something fabulous, put a stamp on it, and link up for a chance to win that $100! Once you have linked up, be sure to leave me a comment letting me know that you did for a chance at the $25. You have one week to enter and comments will be closed at 9 p.m. EST on Sunday, September 9 and winners will be announced next Monday, September 10.

Alrighty! Let's get on with this hop! Your next stop is the fabulous Candy Colwell.

And, just in case... here is a list of all the talent you will encounter as you hop along:
One more thing... Take a look at this interesting info about Simon Says Stamp:
Simon Says Stamp was founded in 2002 with an interest in exclusively selling rubber stamps. It didn’t take long until we realized we couldn’t stop there. Over the past 10 years we celebrate rubber stamping in its full glory by giving access to people around the world to a one stop shop. Rubber stamps still remain the heart of our business and we are celebrating by hosting a “STAMPtember” ™ event intended to inspire, educate, and celebrate the greatness of rubber stamping. Part of the enticement of rubber stamping is that stamps can be used in creating or complementing ANYTHING! From stamping dates on bank documents and postage parcels in the early 18th century, rubber stamping has dramatically expanded to include card making, scrapbooking, mixed media and many forms of altering and expressing art.

But wait! Before you go...
If you would like to try a little mini of your own like the one shown here, a complete supply list is below: (affiliate links used)

Alrighty! Off to hopping and creating you go! See you next time at the Mailbox :)
