Remember this? The rainbow buttons from the stash-busting button embossing extravaganza? Time to get those on a layout!
Here we are with some scraps collected from my newly ROYGBIV organized scrap drawer (thanks Laura for the inspiration!) And, a photo of a dear friend and I at the ready:
But first, let's add a little contrast onto that background:Ah - yes!
Let the rainbow layering begin!
Building up the rainbow...A piece of a leftover sticker sheet makes it way in there too:
And the star of this party...
I know, I know....they are cut into strips. I do love my lines!
Title time!
Some Washi grounds those wonderful Thickers:
Journaling, misting and a bit of doodling...finito!
So, am I friends with buttons after all of this?
I don't think so - LOL! But hey, it's good to know what you like...and what you don't, right?
Now, what shall I do with that massive drawer full of old buttons? Any ideas? Ideas other than just putting them all in a decorative vase and calling it a day. HAHA.

What amazing texture and color. Love your step by step layout photos!! (and I think you've started a trend because start to finish blog posts are all over the place now - I know I saw it here first ;)
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love!
ReplyDeleteI have been waiting to see what you did with those :)
Glad to see you found a use for those buttons. Love your start to finish instructions!
ReplyDeleteAs to what to do with a drawer full, take a look at this http://beckyconley.blogspot.com/2012/04/robins-nest-and-scraperfect-spring-tray.html
Now envision it done with buttons instead. Do you think it would work? It would sure make a dent in the drawer if it would.
oh wow I love it!! great job and those buttons are fab!!
ReplyDeleteI love all of the color on this and yes, the buttons too. :)
ReplyDeleteYour layout is gorgeous. So much texture! I'm quite shocked you aren't in love with buttons! It just goes to show that every scrapbooker can be so different. I, for one, cannot get enough buttons! I use them on almost every layout and am constantly running out, lol. In fact - I just went to the store and bought another baggy of them. I'm sure they'll be gone in a few weeks time. :P
ReplyDeleteI love your process!! So much fun on this page. Love it!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun layout!!
ReplyDeleteSo colorful and messy-fun! What do do with buttons? Hmm . . . I also recently experimented with them to decide if I loved them or would quit trying to use them BUT I like them, so I guess I don't have an answer. Before, I would get them out for the kids to play with while I scrapped. They liked to sort them for me :)
ReplyDeleteSo colorful and fun, the buttons are perfect!
ReplyDeleteyou nailed it!!!!:):)
ReplyDeleteWOW! Another stunning page. Those buttons are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteCool way to use buttons. I like them so it is hard to think of a way to use them if you don't. What about filling an entire background with them? 2P's had this in a class last year for Products You Love here: http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/classes_and_events/classes/20-products-you-love-every-which-way-with-shannon-tidwell/lesson/1713509-products-you-love-every-which-way-march-2011/
ReplyDeleteIn this month she filled a design with buttons and created wall art in addition to her page ideas.
This layout is great! The colors are so perfect, what a fun page and different way to use buttons. I still kinda want to see that flair page you were talking about recently. But if you dont like them what can you do?
ReplyDeleteoh I love how you did all that, I love buttons on layouts!

Love the rainbow of buttons. It made a fun accent. And I'm also loving your rainbow of scraps behind the photo too! :) I do like using buttons on my pages but I don't do it often. I'm kind of liking the idea of tossing them in a vase and calling it a day - they would be fun to look at! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, wow and one more time - wow. This layout is totally gorgeous! The rainbow layering behind the photo is really great, I think I have to try that by myself too.. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors and layout....your friend must love it! As for the buttons? Well...maybe a giveaway. Or string into a bracelet?
ReplyDeleteGreat way to use all those fun bits and bobs you have from other projects! I LOVE the embossed buttons in a row thing- GREAT idea and I love how sinple your stamping pattern is for the background- you are getting so much texture out of those circles with the lines- fantastic!
